SPRINGFIELD AT THURSTON

I’ts the Battle of Springfield as the Thurston Colts host the Springfield Millers this friday night on The Farm! The Colts dominated this rivalry winning 17 in a row, until 2014 and then again last year, when the Millers won two in a row.

This year Thurston (6-2 overall & 4-2 in the Midwestern League) is headed to the 5A playoffs. The Millers (1-7, 1-5) will conclude their season with this game.

Throw the records out because this is a rivalry game and both teams want to win! Many of these athletes know each other from youth football, playing other sports or from attending elementary and middle school together. This is a great rivalry!

Join us for the audio stream as Chris Park and Marcus Miller call the action from Thurston High School.

We’ve had our eyes on this game all year! Last year the Mountain Valley Conference title came down to this game and was secured by the Coquille Red Devils in a 24-20 win at Coquille.

This year the Red Devils are again undefeated at 7-0 and playing great on both sides of the ball. The Red Devil defense has only given up 33 points (a 4.7 per game average) per game and has three shutouts! The Red Devils have not been tested yet this season with a fairly light schedule. They will be this friday night!

The Harrisburg Eagles are 5-2 and have played a very difficult schedule with only two home games so far this year! This looks to be a great game and will settle the Mountain Valley Conference title.

Join us for the audio stream as Chris Park and Marcus Miller call the action from Harrisburg High School.

The Marist Spartans and the North Eugene Highlanders may both be 0-4 so far this season but both teams want a win this week and that makes for a competitive game!

This week we will be at North Eugene High School as the Highlanders host the Spartans. Since joining the Midwestern League in 2010, Marist has not lost to North Eugene. The Highlanders look to get their offense back on track and reverse that trend. Last week North Eugene was shut out 0-27 at Churchill. Prior to the Churchill game, North Eugene was averaging 36 points in their first three games. Marist lost at Ashland 21-52.

Join us for the audio stream as Chris Park and Marcus Miller call the action from North Eugene High School.

The Crescent Valley Raiders (1-0) storm into town to take on the Springfield Millers (0-1) at Silke Field. Crescent Valley beat up on Marist last week in a 40-14 win. The Millers lost on the road at Lebanon 43-14. It’s the final non league game for both teams before the start of league play.

Crescent Valley was ranked #7 in the first Oregon Live 5A football poll and will likely move way up with five teams ranked better losing their opening season games!

The Raiders are led by junior Talanoa Hufanga, a 6’1″, 190# four star prospect who has multiple Pac 12 offers. He plays all positions, including quarterback, wide receiver, linebacker and defensive back. Senior Nick Ah Sam will lead the charge for the Millers.

MADISON AT SOUTH EUGENE

The Madison Senators open the season at South Eugene for the second year in a row. Last year the Axemen got a 23-14 win. Can South Eugene start the season off strong again this year? Will the Senators lobby and filibuster their way to a win? Find out and join us for this Southwestern Conference versus Portland Interscholastic League (PIL) matchup.

This is also your chance to catch Madison linebacker Daniel Green who has committed to play for the USC Trojans. He’s a 4 star recruit with multiple offers from D1 programs. This guy plays hard and is fun to watch clog the middle and run sideline to sideline.

Madison has a host of skill position players to keep an eye on, including Isaia Mullen (WR, Portland State offer), Wyryor Noil (QB/DB, Idaho offer), Marquis Sampson (RB) and Mike Noil (RB).

South Eugene will be led by senior quarterback Parker Mannila, Myles Green-Richards (WR/DB) and middle linebacker/tight end Brautigan Dubie-Gadsby. As always, I’m pretty sure Coach Kevin Leonard will lose his voice by the end of this game!
